The dark atmosphere adds to the hidden magical tone, giving it just the right "if you're not paying attention, you might just miss it" affect. If unicorns are wandering around right now, I have to believe that's exactly the kind of thing that would be going on. Hiding in plain sight, doesn't that just sound like a unicorn?
